Is It Good To Find Love Online?
Online dating has become a trend for young and old people and I can totally see why it became popular. The simple design, the convenient usage and the wide range of matches appeals to all types of people. Many people nowadays are looking for the love of their lives through dating apps or websites and I asked myself if it’s really worth it. Many friends of mine use these online dating sites to find a boyfriend and I have yet to try it, too. The thrill you feel when you match with someone and the excitement of meeting them in person is what my friends are mainly experiencing. I don’t really envy them but I wanted to experience what it’s like and here is my conclusion.
Finding love online is easy.
The first time I used it, I immediately matched with at least ten men within my area and I was shocked how easy it was. By swiping left or right, you can choose people you like or you don’t based on their profile and by profile I mean, their picture and the few sentences they used to describe themselves. It wasn’t really that intensive, I thought that I would get to know someone more just by viewing their profile but I think the goal here is to look at their picture.
Some people use fake names and fake identity online.
In order to match with many people, they would use fake pictures of people they got through Google and would say that they are that person even though they are not. I’ve had many of those and I can say that you shouldn’t easily believe what people wrote on their profiles because some of them are just using a fake identity. They might even be criminals posing as a good high school student to lure people to them and do horrible things. In any case, never meet someone online in a secluded place, always choose a public place to hang out.
Some people online are not serious about having a relationship.
Some people just wanted to have someone they can talk to and that’s it or they wanted to experience something new that’s why they are looking for a pair. You can never know when someone is serious about you because the online community is filled with anonymous people who hide their identity through the anonymity of the Internet. When looking for love online, always ask questions to know what they are like if ever you dated and who they really are to make sure they are not just some random guy who is using other people’s identity.
The Internet can be a very dangerous place so visit sites that you know are safe or just try the apps that your friends have to know how the system works. Never go to suspicious online dating websites because some people there might not be looking for a serious relationship, they are just after the pleasure. Be careful when meeting stranger online too because there has been a lot of cases about teenagers meeting people online and something bad happened to them.
